David has been regarded as Canada’s premier corporate comic magician for the last thirty years. He has a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Canadian Comedy Magic Seminar, is a past recipient of Canada’s “Club Comic of The Year” award and has been nominated at the Canadian Comedy Awards for “Best One Man Show” and “Best Variety Act.” In NYC he won “Best Variety Performer” at the NE Entertainment Corporate Awards.

He has performed on all five continents at over 3200 corporate events, 1400 golf outings and has been to 54 countries with seven of the world’s best cruise lines over his 35 year career.

He is a United States patent holder and lectures, performs, invents and sells magical apparatus to magicians all over the world. He played on a professional blackjack team in Las Vegas in 1980-81, has written has a book on roulette called RE-INVENTING THE WHEEL and currently plays poker semi-professionally, having played in the World Series of Poker three times. After attending Q school he became a golf professional and played in events on the Canadian, Great Lakes and North Atlantic Tours in 1997.

David’s background in entertainment started as the lead role in a grade four production of “Bartholomew and the Oobleck” at Bedford Park School in Toronto. His next step was behind the scenes as stagehand in a grade eight play at Crescent School. He developed a great interest in magic at the age of thirteen and performed his first magic show at a family friend’s birthday on April fools day 1976. He got a lot more serious about entertainment and was bitten by the bug after starting Drama classes while attending high school at Lawrence Park Collegiate. After high school, David started with the Second City workshops and soon tried his hand at stand up comedy on amateur night at the local comedy club. After “killing” on his third night, he has never looked back. He has since performed over 7000 shows in twelve different time zones and been on over 70 TV shows.

David was the host of Global TV’s hit sports trivia show “GAME ON” and “GET A GRIP ON GOLF” and currently is a cast member of Super Channel’s hilarious “TOO MUCH INFORMATION”.

He has been on over 70 Television shows including “THE TOM GREEN SHOW”, “THE KIDS IN THE HALL,” “SCTV,” “BIZARRE,” “LAST COMIC STANDING,” “FINS AND SKINS,” “OFF THE RECORD,” “CBC’S HALIFAX COMEDY FESTIVAL,” “CONRAD BLACK’S “ZOOMER TV” and had his own ½ hour CBC Comedy special, “COMICS.”

Studying “close up” sleight of hand magic with three of the world’s best, Derek Dingle, Ariel Frailich  and Howard Shwartzman, David became a true “card mechanic” and gave demonstrations of gambling techniques utilizing false shuffles, bottom and second dealing and various card cheat ruses. Through his research he became bitten with the whole world of gambling and it’s most entertaining characters. He soon was introduced to a gentleman in Toronto who revised the most revered modern day blackjack system ever invented. He studied and practiced the techniques until mastered. With his new found knowledge off to Las Vegas he went.

In 1981 he made it to the third round of the World Blackjack championships. He played on his humble savings for several months until by chance met up with a professional blackjack team member living in his apartment complex. He made the team and played with them for several months until he was awoken in the night to a gunshot in the apartment next door. He moved back to Toronto two days later. Several years later he started toying with a “rumor” he heard in Las Vegas about an anomaly of the roulette table and formulated a strategy. After 25,000 spins and two years of research, his book “Reinventing the Wheel” containing advanced roulette procedures was printed and has since gone into second print.

The Theatre is David’s true love playing some of the world’s finest stages. He has had the great fortune to share the stage with such stars as David Copperfield, Jerry Seinfeld, Howie Mandel, Robin Williams, The Tenors, Louise Pitre, Steven Wright, Neil Sedaka, Kris Kistofferson, Engelbert Humperdinck, Weird Al, Colm Wilkinson, The Smothers Brothers and The Beach Boys. He has performed at venues such as the MGM Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, Roy Thompson Hall, The Sony Centre, the events pavilion at Casino Rama, the Colosseum at Caesar’s Windsor all the way up to the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa in front of 16,000.
